Sharp Corner

This blog, like so many others, is just a recounting of events in my life. Most of the readers will be my friends (Hi guys!), but the occassional random person may wander in. If you see something interesting here, comment or send me an email, no matter who you are.

In the Boardroom

I was going to "liveblog" the meeting I'm in now, but I value my friends and readers too much to kill them with boredom.

Be warned... later today, I'm probably going to write about sex. I won't be going into much detail, I promise. Still, the idea of me having sex will probably come up.

Sex without love is an empty experience, but as empty experiences go it's one of the best.

A Complete Lack of Dull Moments

Misty and I are back on the Weightwatcher’s Flex Points plan. We’ve used it before and gotten results, but it became difficult to stay on the plan because of our living conditions. We let it go then, but now that we have more control over our groceries, we’ve decided to give it another go. We sprung for a better bathroom scale – one that can register my considerable weight of 305 pounds – and started the plan anew this week. With proper planning, I think we should once again lose weight consistently.

We’ve attended two weddings within the last month. I’m not sure why our friends decided to get married so close together. It’s caused a bit of hassle with traveling, gift-giving, and what have you, but it was worth it for some of our best friends. Both couples had pretty nontraditional weddings, which was fun. One took place at an Italian restaurant and the other on a beach in St. Augustine at sunset. Love is in the air!

At the reception for the second wedding, we met a couple of people living in Jacksonville: Scott and Tresa. We happened to end up sitting at the same table, and we all hit it off pretty quickly. It turns out that they like a lot of the same things we enjoy, so we exchanged email addresses and have been in contact pretty frequently since then. It’s a shame that they live so far away, but we’re pretty sure that we’ll end up getting to hang out soon enough.

This last Sunday, we went to the Bay Area Renaissance Festival again with the Myrddin crew. This was the first year that Misty and I were able to attend in garb, and we enjoyed it. We hope to be able to attend the Fest once more before it closes this year, so we can attend shows and do whatever we want on our own schedule, in full garb. Misty got a brand-new overdress and I got a new doublet, belt and pouch, so we’re eager to show them off and have a good time. Pictures will be forthcoming.

Speaking of pictures, I’ve begun updating my personal website. It’s very basic now (as usual), but it’s a convenient way to present the links I want easy access to and the images I want to share with people. I’ll be updating it fairly frequently in the coming days. I also need to get to work on moving the Tampa Bay Anime site to a different server, putting up some content on the Orion Sewing Slaves site, and more web work. Busy, busy!

Misty started her first temp job today. It’s her first job after getting her degree, so we’re both excited about it. This job will only last for a couple of days, but she likes the fact that she’ll finally be able to contribute. She’s really close to getting a more permanent position at Honeywell, in the HR department, which would let her actually use her degree – something she’s been eager to accomplish. All she’s waiting for is another call from them to set up the final interview and paperwork. She’s really excited about the job, and I’m really happy for her. The extra coin will be welcome, too, of course.

(Yes, I intend to completely ignore that I haven’t updated this blog in over a month.)

Current weight: 305.6 pounds
