Sharp Corner

This blog, like so many others, is just a recounting of events in my life. Most of the readers will be my friends (Hi guys!), but the occassional random person may wander in. If you see something interesting here, comment or send me an email, no matter who you are.

Here Comes a New Challenge!

Schedules are my mortal enemy.  If I have to do anything on a regular basis, or at a regular time, I'm bound to eventually mess it up.  About the only things that I've managed to do on a regular basis is sleep and go to work.  Even with those things, it's rare that I do them at the same time day to day.

Of course, a lot of things I need or want to do are done best at regular times.  Exercise, diet, blogging *ahem*, programming...  I want to do all of these things to various degrees, but I can't seem to stay on the ball.  Even a little bit.  It takes 15 minutes to make a decent blog post, and I can't even manage that.

So, what should I do?  I'm issuing myself a challenge.  I've kinda been inspired by The Bookworm's "Iron Experiment".  I'm going to keep track of everything I want to do at a regular time and publicly challenge myself to do so.  Here's the list:

  • Walking: 30 minutes - Su, M, Tu, Th, F
  • Programming Card Box: 30 minutes - M, Tu, Th, F
  • Blogging (small post): 15 minutes - every day
  • Blogging (large post): 30 minutes - Sunday
  • Tampa Bay Anime forum post: 15 minutes - Su, M, Tu, Th, F

This is today's small post.  I'll explain the difference between large and small ones tomorrow.

Good luck. I find Backpack helpful for making lists of things that have to be done on a certain day but not at any particular time. Joe's Goals is also good if you want to give yourself some recognition or just track the "yes, I did it" side of the equation.
